Free Health Screening in Palm Coast

As part of Parks & Recreation Month, Florida Hospital Flagler and the Palm Coast Parks & Recreation Department invite the public to a free Health Screening event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE.

To help residents reduce their risk of heart disease and other common health problems, screening services will include musculoskeletal; blood pressure; weight, height and BMI; carbon monoxide; and ankle-brachial index. Information will be provided about a number of health services available through the hospital including cancer, cardiac and home health care.

Parks & Recreation and the hospital entered into a formal partnership earlier this year with the goal of improving the quality of life of local residents through joint health and wellness initiatives.

Starting in September, Parks & Recreation and the hospital are partnering to offer a series of Wellness Workshops and Screenings, as well as special events such as a Couch to 5K Challenge and National Diabetes Day Awareness Event. Parks & Recreation will also be adding new exercise classes this fall. Watch for the schedule coming out soon!

Florida Hospital Flagler is the title sponsor for the Palm Coast & the Flagler Beaches Senior Games, coming up Sept. 7-23, and also sponsors the monthly Lunch N’ Lecture Series and Coffee Series offered at the Community Center.
