Flagler County NAACP ACT-SO program will celebrate its Fourth Annual “Olympics of the Mind" Competition Kickoff Registration

The Flagler County NAACP ACT-SO program will celebrate its Fourth Annual “Olympics of the Mind" Competition Kickoff Registration on Thursday January 15, 7 p.m., at the Flagler County Youth Center, 5510 E. Hwy 100, Palm Coast.
We encourage all high school students, who meet the criteria (must be of African-American or Latino descent), to register to win scholarship dollars.
ACT-SO is the major youth initiative of the NAACP.

ACT-SO is the acronym for Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics.  The program provides a platform through which students can showcase their talents and be recognized for their achievements in 27 academic subjects. It is a student-enrichment program that culminates into a local and national competition, where students compete for awards, prizes, and scholarships, totaling up to $200,000.
Traditionally, students who participate in the local and national ACT-SO competition can compete in up to three categories within the Sciences, Humanities, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Entrepreneurship. The winners of the local competition will represent Flagler County in the national competition in Philadelphia, PA., on July 9-12.
ACT-SO has been an inspiration to more than 200 local youth over the past four years. The program is dedicated to promoting performance and academic excellence among African-American and Hispanic high school students.
